INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE

MICHIGAN MUNICIPAL RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY FOR

A CORRECTIONAL TRAINING OFFICER PROGRAM

RESOLUTION #03-296

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff's Office applied for and has been approved to receive a M.M.R.M.A. RAP Grant to train officers in a Correctional Training Officer program; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of the training is to train deputies from selected agencies to train and evaluate new employees at their agencies; and

WHEREAS, the amount of the grant request from M.M.R.M.A. is $1,922.00 with an in-kind match from the Sheriff's Office of $3,033.00, making the total project cost of $4,955.00; and

WHEREAS, $702.00 of the Correctional Officer Training Grant is for project administration wages; and

WHEREAS, $255.00 of the Correctional Officer Training Grant is for classroom and equipment usage; and

WHEREAS, $965.00 of the Correctional Officer Training Grant is for supplies and printing expenses.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Ingham County Sheriff's Office to accept a grant of $1,922.00 from M.M.R.M.A. The Corrections Training Program time period is from January 1, 2003 through December 31, 2003.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make any necessary budget adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff's Office 2003 Budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and Clerk are authorized to sign any purchase/contract documents that are consistent with this resolution upon approval as to form by the County Attorney.
